I-CORE is seeking strategic partners to realize the vision of nurturing a new generation of researchers and strengthening Israel's capacity to play a global leadership position in scientific breakthroughs and academic achievement.
 

The I-COREs create rare and unique funding opportunities for international foundations and philanthropists. Here is what makes it so special:

• Every I-CORE is a cluster of world class researchers from Israel and abroad, fully provided with research grants, major research infrastructure and current expenses.
• Every dollar invested in an I-CORE is immediately matched by 2 more dollars: $1 by the Government of Israel, $1 by the participating research institutions.
• I-CORE brings the traditional blessing of Tikun Olam (healing the world) from Israel to the entire world, by promoting research directed at curing diseases, easing human suffering, supporting human values and education, advancing social sciences, breaking into new technological frontiers.
• The evaluation process is managed by the Israeli Science Foundation (ISF) which is renowned for its independent and professional processes, based solely on scientific merits.
• I-CORE offers equal opportunities to all Israeli citizens.

Guaranteed Government Support
 

I-CORE was initiated by Israel's Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Council of Higher Education and endorsed by the Government of Israel. The total budget of the I-CORE program is US$360 million (about NIS1.35 billion), of which one third is a funded directly by the government, one third by the participating research institutions in each I-CORE, and the balance is expected from foundations and strategic partners.
